CMS Posts COVID-19 Data

CMS posted initial data analytics on COVID-19. Data was collected from nursing home reports to the CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network. Data will be updated on a weekly basis moving forward.

What can providers do?

• Search: Map for COVID-19 Statistics Listed by Facility
• CMS stated COVID-19 would be on Nursing Home Compare. However, only brief information related to the data are available on the “Spotlight” section of the homepage. CMS has not actually posted the data on the site as of yet. Links to the data are available at data.cms.gov
• Read the Press Release
• Take a peek at the inspection reports completed by state surveyors (these were inspections completed after changes to the survey process and include a new COVID-19 infection control survey)
