Occupational Therapist – Lead – Part-time – Greensburg, IN

We are looking for a part-time Lead Occupational Therapist to work in our therapy department located in Greensburg, IN. Voted Best Places to Work in Indiana 2011!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Provides Occupational Therapy services to patients under the appropriate guidelines established by each individual client facility.
- As requested by the client facility and in accordance with HTS guidelines, conducts screening of patients to determine a need for intervention/treatment.
- Evaluates patients to obtain data necessary for treatment planning and implementation. Including Swallow/Dysphagia Evaluations.
- Interprets and communicates evaluation findings to patients, family and other team members.
- Establishes individual patient schedules in conjunction with other team members.
- Develops treatment plans by identifying a problem list, including short and long-term goals and methods to achieve identified goals.
- Coordinates treatment plan with patient, family and other team members or facility staff.
- Conducts both individual and group treatment as outlined in treatment plan in the areas of ADL, functional mobility, ROM, strength, coordination, cognitive/perceptual remediation and functional maintenance, and swallow/Dysphagia treatments.
- Assists in the selection of Occupational Therapy techniques/media and in the sequence of activities, adapts techniques/media as indicated by patient performance.
- Implements and conducts treatment outlined in treatment plan.
- Monitors patient’s response to intervention and modifies treatment as indicated to attain goals in accordance with physician orders.
- Develops appropriate home or community programming to maintain and enhance the performance of the patient in their own environment.
- Documents results of patient’s assessment, treatment, follow up and termination of services.
- Adapts treatment to meet the individual needs of the patient.
- Provides/recommends/fabricates adaptive devices, orthotics or prosthetics. Trains patient, family and appropriate staff in the use or application of the above.
- In accordance with state guidelines provides appropriate supervision of staff occupational therapy assistant(s) providing treatment.
RECOMMENDED MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors of Science or Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience as a therapist or clinical experience as a new graduate.
- Current State Licensure or temporary licensure.
