HTS President Barry Chatham’s Reaction on Winning Best Places to Work 2011 AwardTuesday, March 15th, 2011
When I was informed that HTS had been named as “One of The Best Places to Work”, what stood out for me was to learn that 75% of this award was determined by the employees themselves. “Why did we receive so many positive comments?”-knowing that in more than 40 years of working in health care, therapists have many opportunities to work in different companies. All therapy companies have to be very competitive in salaries, benefits, training, etc, because there has always been a higher demand of patients needing our help than therapists to fill the needs.
The intial thought of asking, “why?” could be answered with positive responses. The clinial and leadership skills of our management team and their long term care commitment to HTS, several with over 10 years, had an important and positive impact on our staff. Every month, as I write thank you notes to those that are celebrating another anniversary with HTS, it is a very humbling experience for me to see the years of commitment from so many of our employees.
We strive to be consistent in our quality and manner in working with our patients and clients, which has allowed us a very steady, continued, growth over many years. Having my two sons very involved with HTS for over 15 years each is also a very positive part of our commitment to leadership long term. We are a Christian company that provides the very best in therapy services for our patients (as we state in our mission statement) reflecting Jeremiah 29:11, that we will continue to do our part in helping our patients to have hope and a future.

Healthcare Therapy Services, Inc. Named Best Places to Work in Indiana 2011Tuesday, March 15th, 2011
Healthcare Therapy Services, Inc. was recently named as one of the 2011 Best Places to Work in Indiana for the large employer category with over 250 employees. The awards program was created in 2006 and is a project of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, BizVoice®, Inside Indiana Business, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and Best Companies Group.
This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Indiana, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses. The 2011 Best Places to Work in Indiana list is made up of 34 companies in the small/medium-sized list (15-249 employees in the United States) and 36 companies in the large-sized list (250+ employees in the United States). Healthcare Therapy Services, Inc. has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Indiana for 2011.
To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:
- Have at least 15 employees working in Indiana;
- Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity;
- Be a publicly or privately held business;
- Have a facility in the state of Indiana; and
- Must be in business a minimum of 1 year.
Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the Best Places to Work in Indiana. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Indiana and also analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.
Healthcare Therapy Services, Inc. will be recognized and honored at the 2011 Best Places to Work in Indiana Awards Dinner coordinated by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, May 5th. The final rankings will be announced at the event. In addition, all ranked companies will be featured in the May-June issue of the award-winning BizVoice® magazine.
